This year, Rubaroc was installed around the beautiful pool decks of Caesars Palace Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. For years they had issues with a slippery surface, resulting in slip-fall accidents. Caesars researched different options and the latest attempt to a safe surface was the installation of MMA – a textured polymer concrete overlay which began to wear off a few months after installation, leaving a slippery, hard and rigid surface exposed. This epoxy based surface also prevented moisture from escaping the sub-base which resulted in cracks, blisters and unsightly water accumulation which created hazards for the guests and a poor appearance for such a prestigious resort.
After careful analysis and reference checking by the Caesars Palace Management, it was determined that Rubaroc would be the perfect solution to their problems.
Phase 1 of the installation was performed by a crew of up to 26 people in a time period of 5 weeks. A local construction company prepped the area by scarifying the surface to allow Rubaroc to adhere to it properly. Then, a primer was used, as it is in all our installations, and finally, Rubaroc was troweled by a local team of expert installers. Rubaroc was hand troweled over 69,000 square feet, carefully following the distinctive design that surrounds the Caesars Palace pool decks.
The flexible and porous nature of Rubaroc allowed moisture to escape the surface and created the perfect non-slip surface for the Caesars Palace guests to enjoy.
Caesars Palace Hotel & Casino is happy to announce zero accidents since installation 6 months ago. 3 movies and multiple entertainment shows have been held around the pool deck area and it is safe to say that Caesars management is very pleased with their installation. We are excited to begin Phase 2 of the project underway very soon!
